Commissions

Hey, there. Let’s work together to find a visual that fits your needs!

  • Together, we can find what’s appropriate for you! When working on an individualized level, it helps to understand where the person is currently coming from, regarding style and energy. When considering the abstract, are you looking for tighter line-work with a graphic style? Or do you need some breathing room through space and texture? Alternatively, if there is a particular room or wall that needs a design, then we can consider a cohesive visual for that spot in question.

First and foremost, in order to inform the work, it’s best to settle on a budget, the ideal dimensions of a work, and the preferred working surface or paper type (color, texture, weight etc.) for the piece itself...

After base materials are understood, then we can look to agree on an intended palette and approximate timeline for the project. From there, the aesthetic of the design tends to naturally unfold, according to the process of the work in question.

  • With most commissions, works are priced on a case-by-case basis, with an initial consultation. Small works tend to start at $200-$350. Medium and larger works vary!

Typically, my abstract and illustrative pieces are created on paper, canvas, wood panel, or artist board. Economically, each material differs.

Projects that involve artwork reproduction or a heavy digital presence may constitute additional fees for licensure.

  • I accept cash, check, Venmo, and PayPal.

You can either 1.) choose to pay the full amount up-front or 2.) pay in two installments. If choosing multiple invoices, then the first installment is half of the agreed-upon amount (to be received before starting work) and the second installment is the remaining balance (to be received before finishing work).

Throughout the commissioned process, I will invoice via email and update you on the overall progress of the work, with occasional snippets shared to my social media accounts.

Taxes will be factored into the initial quoted price for local clients. Customers residing in states outside of Ohio will assume the responsibility of paying sales tax on purchased items.

Shipping and handling costs are assessed as a separate expense for the client, if not a local pick-up/delivery.

Seeing as how all work is original and experimental by nature, no refunds will be issued. If there is a technical problem with the work upon receipt, then I will do my best to honor and mend the situation.

  • Most projects will be completed as unframed; although, I do make some exceptions.

For local clients, I can collaborate with my preferred framer and advise you on aesthetics (pick-up/delivery only).

Unfortunately, I will not ship custom framed works but can offer recommendations on plexi, mat board, and framing from a distance. Sometimes, when mailing out pieces, I may include a readymade lightweight frame for structural protection.

Generally, I enjoy my works to be framed as “floating”, recommend the use of acid-free archival materials, and endorse UV-protected acrylic plexi.

  • Once the work is confirmed as received, I will send a Certificate of Authenticity via email (which also notes a final image), for our shared records.

I retain the right to use images of my work for promotional and professional purposes, including reproductions of the work.

If you are to publish or cite my work, then the appropriate artist credit is needed. As previously noted, projects that involve artwork reproduction or a heavy digital presence may constitute additional fees for licensure or invoke legal action if used for unauthorized commercial purposes.

Feel free to contact me with any questions!
